Knit hat: Esprit || Lipstick: Maybelline Plum Prefect

Hey fashionistas,

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite fall accessories - my knit hat. I normally write about a whole outfit but going through my closet I found this knit hat that brought back memories. To many it might seem like just a simple hat but this piece means a lot to me. My mom gave me this hat as a present. I haven’t seen my parents in over a year. The reason behind this is because I am currently living in Los Angeles whereas my parents still live in Germany. 

My mom likes to send me packages for by birthday and holidays filled with German candy and other surprises. This knit hat from Esprit was in one of those packages. My mom knows my style really well so I was happy to get this hat. Living in a different continent is not always easy and sometimes I feel homesick. In those moments I like to look back with funny pictures or in this case pull out this hat that means so much to me. It doesn’t matter how far away you live from your loved ones as long as you know that someone is thinking of you is all that matters.

Fashion is about emotions and I bet every one of you has at least one item that reminds you of something special. That could be everything from your engagement party to your grand mothers jacket or in my case this cute hat.

What I love most about this knit piece are the details. I love faux fur pompoms and knit wear for fall / winter. This hat keeps my ears warm while looking stylish. There is also a funny story behind the brand Esprit. Always when I see this brand it reminds me of my mom. You might wonder why? The answer is simple. Esprit has been in our household forever. My mom really likes the brand and I have to say there clothes are pretty amazing. In case you never heard of Esprit before, this brand is more know in Germany / Europe but there is a handful of stores here in LA.

Being that it’s fall I decided to wear my fluffy zipper jacket, which I paired with, my favorite knit hat. To finish the look I threw on some ripped jeans. This ensemble is causal and an easy-to-wear fall look that you can wear almost everywhere.

Next time when you go through your closet pause a second and think about the unique stories behind those pieces because every single one is telling a story.
