Hi Fashionistas,
Ever since Carrie Bradshaw showed the world that it is okay to wear tulle skirts during the day in the most fashionable way possible I can’t live without those feminine pieces. Tulle skirts come in almost every color you can image from mini to maxi lengths. I am tulle skirt obsessed and constantly working on my collection. My latest acquisition is this midi-length black tulle skirt from Zaful.
As I mentioned in a previous blog post Zaful is an Asian retailer that sells clothes and accessories. Tulle can look cheap really fast so I was more than happy that my tulle skirt does not look inexpensive at all. The quality feels really nice and I already know that this skirt will be my go-to piece on days where I am unsure what to wear.
If you are a tulle skirt beginner start with neutral colors and pastels because those colors are easier to make part of your own style. I already own two other pastel pink tulle skirts so I really wanted a simple, elegant black one.
What I love most about tulle skirts is that these quirky skirts can instantly dress up a plain shirt. Tulle skirts also create a feminine shape (and who doesn’t want that?!) because they are tapered at the waist and flattered to below the knee. That basically means tulle skirts will highlight the thinnest part of your waist and hides your tiny belly.
You can style a tulle skirt in two different ways. On the one hand, you can go for a classic, dainty look where you can pair a plain t-shirt or in my case a white crop top and a pair of pumps. A crop top in this case will spice up the look a bit more and because you show off some skin it will add more dimension to your look.
The other option is styling the skirt in the most casual way possible (fashion girl alert). Try pairing the feminine skirt with a rock or a band shirt and a pair of white sneakers. This combination will off-set the softness of the skirt and add more texture to your outfit.
To finish my look I added a pair of Betsy Johnson heels (on Sale right now) and my favorite silver statement necklace I once received in my happy rebel subscription box. In order to make it a day time look, I grabbed my Kate Spade purse and put on some lip gloss.
In the end, it is up to you if you want to style your skirt glamorous or casual but a tulle skirt always guarantees a girly, elegant style.
