Hey Fashionistas,
Happy Tuesday! I am counting the days until my vacation! Our upcoming time out is much needed. I don’t mind some time off from social media but until then, I will post inspiring outfits.
I will also post my vacay pics on my blog and my travel recommendations. Also, who is watching the Bachelorette? Us! My Monday has finally meaning again and does not fully suck anymore.
Now let's chat about my look. A velvet blazer is the lux version to your regular blazer. A staple that should be in everyone’s closet. A velvet piece like a blazer or jacket is so versatile. You can style up a plain dress or pants and you're ready for a cocktail party, the theater or even a costume party.
Velvet is a great fabric to take casual looks to the next level. A velvet jacket can polish a simple tank top and jeans to a chic ensemble for a night out with friends or to a dinner date after work. A velvet blazer will be your it-piece in an outfit so be sure to keep the rest of the look subtle.
I recently got this velvet pink blazer and I love it! My favorite combo is blue jeans and a blazer. I like the casual chic looks that can be worn to work but also for a fun night out. For this outfit, I decided to wear my leopard heels but I can also totally see a great pair of kicks to keep it sporty.
The casual part comes from my white j’adore tee - I just tuck it in and my blue jeans. The blazer, my heels, and the accessories add the chic part.
Here are some important velvet style rules:
Don't combine velvet with velvet. One velvet piece is enough everything else would be overkill.
Keep the sparkle in check. Velvet is your star no need to add tons of sparkle and glitter. Especially with such a daring color like my blazer.
Mix textures. Velvet can be combined with silk, cotton, denim. Try playing with patterns and other fabrics.
The casual approach. A velvet blazer can look city chic with a pair of jeans and heels. For a more casual approach style with sneakers and a knotted shirt at the waist. You will soon realize that velvet will fit perfectly into your wardrobe.
